Eligibility Criteria


  • Lead applicant must be a for-profit organization
  • The project must have the potential to increase business competitiveness through:

o increased export volumes,

o increased access to supply chains and markets,

o increased access to services that facilitate trade

  • Projects must be characterized by innovation in terms of:

o innovative products, concepts, business models, or technologies that can grow export volumes

o introductions of new affordable business services that facilitate and reduce the cost of cross-border trade

  • The funds are for the implementation of the project and are not to be used to support the operational or overhead costs of the corporate entity (a for-profit organization)
  • The securing of conventional commercial funding for the project is unlikely
  • The applicant has to provide a minimum of 50% of the total project cost
  • The project must have the potential for commercial viability
  • The corporate entity must have a proven capacity to implement their project
  • The project must demonstrate social welfare gains
  • The project should have no adverse environmental impacts
